Top 10 Stolen Vehicles in April 2009

HOUSTON - Ford trucks continued to top the list of the city's stolen vehicles in April, according to Houston Police Department report. However, the total number of stolen vehicles has dropped from March.

In the Top 10 Stolen Vehicles report, which is released monthly, officials calculated a total of 713 vehicles were reported missing in April. In March, 760 reports were filed.

Of the reports filed in April, 145 of the vehicles were Ford trucks, according to the statement. In March, 170 Ford vehicles were reported stolen.

The numbers of Honda cars reported stolen in April crept up to 132 from 104 the month before.

The increase in Honda car thefts in April exceeded that of Chevrolet trucks, which held the No. 2 spot in March.

In April, 117 Chevy trucks were reported stolen, down from the 126 reported the month before.
