Replace Used Lexus RX400h Hybrid SUV With Toyota Hightlander Hybrid

Buyer Question:
My wife is looking to replace her Lexus RX400h hybrid SUV, which she has driven happily for four years and over 62,000 miles now.

The new version of the vehicle, the 2010 model, is packed with lots of great new features and looks terrific -- but is also very expensive, at over $55,000.

Is there any other vehicle you can recommend that has a similar combination of hybrid technology, four-wheel drive, interior cargo space and luxury feel, but with a lower price tag?

Autos Expert Answer:
Have you checked out the RX's cousin, the Toyota Highlander hybrid? While not cheap, it is less expensive than the Lexus and, I think, more practical and comfortable.

A 1,300-mile family trip last summer convinced me that the Highlander is the SUV to have if you want comfort, generous interior space and impressive fuel economy.
