PARIS (Reuters) - French new car sales fell 7.9 percent year-on-year in January after a 15.8 percent drop in December, the CCFA French auto industry body said on Monday.
Based on the same number of working days, sales were down 3.5 percent.
Sales of French brands dropped 14.8 percent and took their combined market share to 50 percent. PSA Peugeot Citroen (PEUP.PA) had 11.2 percent fewer sales, and group sales at Renault (RENA.PA) fell 20.9 percent.

BMW (BMWG.DE) suffered a 21.4 percent drop, while Hyundai (005380.KS) saw sales rise 26.4 percent.
