2010 Jaguar XF-R Sedan Spy Shots

Jaguar’s XF sedan has enjoyed heaps of praise from the public and the motoring press since its introduction, something that’s not likely to change when this “R” version hits the ground running.

This lightly dolled up Jaguar mule shows an XF-R that should be able to take the measure of even the sternest of the German competition, especially with a 500 horsepower supercharged V-8 churning away under the hood.

The 5.0-liter eight is an all new direct injection engine as well, meaning that it’s likely cleaner and more frugal than big Jag engines of the past.

The XF-R will have a few subtle clues about its performance potential as well (if one can call 20-inch wheels subtle), with bigger shoes, a small rear lip spoiler, chromed quad exhaust tips, and revised bumpers. Take a look above.

Naughty Cat…

Here are some shots of the car that will try to make the life harder for the Mercedes AMG E63 and the M5 from BMW. The Jaguar XF-R, and here it’s spied almost fully unmasked.

Rumored to get a 500 horsepower supercharged strong V8, this will be the top of the line XF for some time. This is not just a hotter version of the 4.2 liter engine, but a new 5 liter direct-injection engine with cleaner emissions.

There was also some talking about a XFR-R that should deliver some 600 horsepower, but the economical climate in our world has stopped those plans for now.

These photos reveal most of the exterior changes, like the new 20 inch wheels, the small rear spoiler and the air intakes in the hood. Front spoiler will get bigger air intakes and of course, the chrome tipped quad exhaust pipes.
